Our Epiphany

Chuck and I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to some really cool places in the world and have some fantastic memories all from the comfort of hotel rooms! But for a really, really long time (think epic galaxy time) we have been talking about how we want to travel, hike and see the national and state parks in North America – those places that we have seen in pictures and read about in travel books and blogs. But we want to do this in comfort with our stuff and our fur babies – in an RV. The initial question was……what kind did we want? Did we really want this? Which ones were good? About three years ago we decided what we wanted and our friends let us tour their super cool one. We starting spending hours on line looking at blogs by folks who have one. Did they like it? Where they full time, part time? What model did they have? How did they cook, clean, decorate and where did they travel? We looked at all the floor plans, and periodically went to the dealer to see our favorite plans in person. Saving our money. This has been our retirement dream.

About a month ago we had an epiphany – why do we keep waiting until we are retired? Why aren’t we doing this now – only in a smaller size. A “let’s see if we like this size”. A weekend size. A “we can enjoy this now” size. And by the way – we aren’t getting any younger (shocking but true). Soooo – we finally did it! Meet our silver girl, Sassy Sally! She is one fun road trippin silver chick that we had a fabulous weekend with at the Lost Dutchman Park.   A huge shout out to Laura (Sputnik Goes) who is the most patient person we know! She spent hours with us going over the “how to’s” and answered texts – lots of texts! Most relaxing weekend we have had in a long time. This is us – enjoying our pre-retirement long weekend, with many more in the near future! Looking forward to our next adventure in November!
